ABILENE, Texas (AP) — Jaylen Franklin scored 20 points, Parker Wentz had 17 and Abilene Christian rolled to an 87-72 victory over Northwestern State on Tuesday night.

Franklin shot just 4 of 15 from the floor but made 12 of 16 free throws. Wentz had three 3-pointers on 6-of-11 shooting. Isaiah Tripp had 12 points and Hayden Farquhar chipped in 10 points for Abilene Christian (7-9, 2-1 Southland).

Jaren Lewis added eight points with 13 rebounds, and Jalen Little had 11 assists with three steals for the Wildcats.

Zeek Woodley scored 26 points to lead Northwestern State (3-11, 0-4), which has lost four straight following back-to-back wins. Ishmael Lane and Devonte Hall had 15 points apiece.

A 7-0 spurt pulled Northwestern State to 61-55, but the Demons stayed within single digits until Farquhar made a layup and Tripp scored five straight points to stretch the Wildcats' lead to 78-66 with 4:24 remaining.
