COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio Gov. John Kasich (KAY-sik) is visiting Nevada a day after qualifying for Thursday's Republican presidential debate, the last faceoff before the first voting begins in under a month. The second-term governor and former congressman plans to meet voters in Reno today.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A former Las Vegas-area elected official has a court date today in a drunken driving charge. An attorney sought an extra day to confirm he'll represent Tom Collins in the case. Collins isn't expected to appear in person.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A man has died after a shooting in north Carson City. The Carson City Sheriff's Office reports that detectives are investigating the incident as a homicide resulting from a drug transaction. Officials have not yet released the name of the victim.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas city officials are gauging the response to rules put in place in recent weeks to regulate street performers. City Attorney Brad Jerbic hosts a meeting today at City Hall about a municipal ordinance that went into effect in November.
