NEW YORK (AP) — The parents of a 5-year-old Bronx boy say he wandered alone in the cold after a school bus dropped him off earlier than usual and no one was there to receive him.

Mariana and Edgar Sanchez tell WNBC-TV (http://bit.ly/1RIFPBX ) that a man called her after finding Rafael wandering alone in the cold and brought him home.

The parents say they've filed a police report. It's unclear if charges will be filed.

Mariana Sanchez says she wants a new bus driver.

The principal at PS 392 told Edgar Sanchez that the child should not be dropped off if there is no one to pick him up.

School district officials say they are investigating.
