PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Devin Martin scored 21 points on 7-of 10 shooting and Dominique Elliott made 6 of 9 field goal attempts and finished with 14 points to help Maryland-Eastern Shore beat Morgan State 69-65 Monday night.
Bakari Copeland added 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting for UMES (4-14, 1-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).
The Hawks, who came in shooting 42.2 percent from the field, made 27 of 46 (58.7 percent) field goal attempts.
Cedric Blossom's 3-point play with 6:43 left put Morgan State (3-13, 1-2) up 63-57, but the Bears missed their next five field goal attempts as UMES scored 11 straight to take the lead for good on a 3 by Martin with 4:12 left.
Blossom led Morgan State with 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Phillip Carr added 16 and Rasean Simpson scored 13.
The Bears led 41-35 at halftime but made just 9 of 22 (40.9 percent) field goals, including 2 of 11 from 3-point range, after the break.
