The Utah Highway Patrol says the prominence of impromptu births in Tooele County may be because there is a lack of hospitals.

OGDEN, Utah (AP) — A solar jobs program for veterans, first touted by President Barack Obama, will begin Feb. 1. The Standard-Examiner reports that under the U.S. Department of Energy's "Solar Ready Vets" program, 75,000 people will be prepared to work in the solar industry by 2020. Military veterans getting out of active duty will make up a large portion of potential workers.

SPRINGDALE, Utah (AP) — This year's Tour of Utah race will start in Springdale, against the wishes of many town officials and residents. Tour officials say the race will showcase Utah's beauty to the world.
