NORMALVILLE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities are blaming an eight-vehicle accident on icy roads in southwestern Pennsylvania, fueled by frigid wind chills that have prompted at least two school districts to delay classes for two hours.
Fayette County 911 dispatchers say nobody was hurt in the pileup about 6:30 a.m. Monday on County Line Road in Saltlick Township. That's about 50 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.
Temperatures were in the teens, but winds brought the chill index to near zero for much of the area, especially in areas south and east of Pittsburgh.
The Bethlehem Center School District in Fredericktown and the McGuffey School District in Claysville were operating on two-hour delays Monday.
