OREM, Utah (AP) — Jaden Jackson scored 17 of his career-high 31 points in the first half, and Ivory Young finished with a career-best 17 points as Utah Valley used a hot-shooting start to beat Texas-Rio Grande Valley 98-65 Saturday night.
Konner Frey and Marcel Davis added 13 points apiece as the Wolverines scored their most points since scoring 103 against Haskell on Dec. 20, 2013. Davis added seven rebounds and a career-high tying nine assists.
Utah Valley (7-10, 1-1 Western Athletic Conference) made 11 of its first 13 field goal attempts and scored 21 consecutive points to take a 27-6 lead fewer than seven minutes into the game.
Antonio Green scored 17 and Dan Kimasa added 16 for the Vaqueros (4-13, 0-2).
The Wolverines made a season-high — and the second most in school history — 15 3-pointers on 30 attempts, shot 57 percent (36 of 63) from the field and hit 11 of 11 free throws.
