WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) — Omar Prewitt scored 23 points and grabbed five rebounds as William & Mary rolled to a 78-60 win over Northeastern on Saturday.
Prewitt finished with 10-of-13 shooting from the field including three from distance for the Tribe (11-4, 3-1 Colonial). Daniel Dixon had 15 points, Terry Tarpey had 11 points and 11 rebounds and David Cohn had 10 points. The team averaged 57.9 percent shooting from the field and had a 40-32 rebounding edge over Northeastern.
Prewitt scored 13 points in the first half to help give William & Mary a 33-26 edge at the break.
The Tribe opened the second half with a Prewitt dunk and a pair of 3-pointers by Cohn as part of a 10-6 run that extended their advantage to 43-32 with 14:54 to play. William & Mary rolled to the win after that.
Quincy Ford led the Huskies (11-6, 3-1) with 18 points.
