SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — Investigators will decide where to pursue the case of two men who died in an April car fire.
The Albuquerque Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1MZwCPg) autopsy results released Friday by the Office of the Medical Investigator say 23-year-old Eric Salazar and 54-year-old Renzo Comanche died of burns and carbon monoxide poisoning. It was initially unclear whether they died before the blaze.
It's unknown what sparked the fire, leading the manner of death for both men to be certified as undetermined.
State Police Sgt. Chad Pierce says these autopsy results need to be reviewed by investigators who can then decide next steps.
Donald Ferran is serving life in prison for the February 2011 deaths of Salazar's cousin, Sarah Salazar, and Joey Maestas, whose bodies were found burned to death in a vehicle.
