GARDEN CITY, Idaho (AP) — Ada County authorities say the gun show in Garden City this weekend will be the last for a while, as they look into increasing gun show security.

KTVB-TV reports (http://is.gd/vhbTE4 ) the decision was made in light of several recent accidental weapon discharges at recent gun shows.

Lewis Clark Trader, which is putting on the event at Expo Idaho, says talks about upping security at gun shows started last fall. They have had to cancel two upcoming shows planned for the spring, but this weekend's event will go on.

Ada County Commissioner Rick Yzaguirre says they are declaring a moratorium on gun shows until they can explore liability and safety issues.

At a show held at Expo Idaho in 2013, a Mountain Home Air Force Base airman lost his vision in one eye after a gun accidentally went off.

Because Ada County manages the facility, the county had to pay $100,000 in the settlement.

On Oct. 31, a gun discharged inside another show that Lewis Clark Trader put on, shooting and injuring two men.
