HARRISON, N.J. (AP) — The New York Red Bulls have signed midfielders Dax McCarty and Felipe to multiyear contract extensions and re-signed defender Damien Perrinelle.
The Major League Soccer team announced the deals on Friday without disclosing terms.
McCarty was the Red Bulls' captain last season, his fifth with the team and 10th in the league. He earned his first MLS All-Star and MLS Best XI selections. The midfielder scored two goals in the regular season and recorded a career-best eight assists.
Felipe joined New York last season. He had three goals, including a game-winner at Portland in September, and five assists. The Brazilian was the only player to start all 34 regular season games for New York, which had the league's best regular-season record for the second time in three years.
Perrinelle returns to the Red Bulls after not having his option picked up at the end of 2015. The 31-year-old Frenchman steadied a young backline that allowed the fewest goals in the Eastern Conference.
