STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Aerial Powers and Tori Jankoska each had 21 points and 10 rebounds on Thursday night and No. 23 Michigan State beat Penn State 71-55.

The Spartans (11-3, 2-1 Big Ten) never trailed, opening with a 16-6 run and leading by double digits throughout the second half to win seven of their last eight.

Michigan State had a 12-point lead at halftime and opened the third quarter with a 10-4 run to lead 45-27 on Powers' jumper with 6:16 left in the period.

Powers made 8 of 10 from the foul line and Jankoska shot 3 of 7 from 3-point range.

Teniya Page had 16 points, Brianna Banks scored 14 and Candice Agee added 10 for the Nittany Lions (6-8, 1-2). After trailing by 12 in the second quarter, Penn State scored six straight to get to 26-20 but got no closer.
