NEW YORK (AP) — Jules N Rome made her debut for a new barn a winning one, beating Rachel's Temper by 1 1/4 lengths Thursday in the $67,000 allowance feature for fillies and mares at Aqueduct.
Claimed by trainer Danny Gargan for $40,000 from her previous race, Jules N Rome set the pace to earn her fifth win in 13 starts.
Kendrick Carmouche was aboard for the 1 1/16 miles in 1:44.51 on the fast track.
Jules N Rome, a gray 4-year-old bred in New York, paid $11.80, $7.30 and $3.80 as the 9/2 second choice.
Rachel's Temper returned $13.40 and $5.
High Ridge Road, the 3/5 favorite, challenged at the top of the stretch before weakening to finish third. She paid $2.10 to show.
