FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — A Maryland man faces sentencing for his role in a gang-related shooting outside a high school gymnasium that wounded two teenage boys.
The hearing Thursday for 20-year-old Chandler Davenport comes about four months after he pleaded guilty to two counts of reckless endangerment in the Feb. 4 incident at Frederick High School.
His offenses carry a combined maximum prison term of 10 years, but prosecutors are recommending a one-year sentence with nine years suspended.
Co-defendant Brandon Tyler was sentenced last month to 12 years in prison. Prosecutors say Tyler fired seven shots at rival gang members as they left the gym after Davenport went inside.
Davenport told investigators he knew Tyler had a gun but didn't know he planned to use it.
The victims were 15 and 14 years old.
