BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho Republicans will soon be asked to approve new party platforms, which include proposed measures such as radically changing the structure of committees inside the Idaho Statehouse and ensuring that all bills receive a legislative hearing. The Idaho Republican Party will vote on the proposed resolutions during its winter meeting which will take place tomorrow and Saturday. Thirteen resolutions have been submitted so far, but party members have the option of considering late submissions.
MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — A 23-year-old Moscow woman who admitted to exploiting a man in her care who died in her home will spend the next six years on probation. The Lewiston Tribune reports that Lindsey Winter was sentenced to two to eight years in prison in June, but was placed in a rider program that gave her the opportunity to avoid serving a longer sentence if she did well.
KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) — The central Idaho town of Ketchum will begin fining residents who pile snow on city property. The Idaho Mountain Express reports that the Ketchum City Council voted to ticket and fine people $150 for removing snow from private property and putting it in public areas.
NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — The owner of an old hospital in Nampa has decided to demolish the building after a large fire destroyed the roof, third floor and flooded the basement. The Idaho Press-Tribune reports that the Mercy Medical Hospital fire took nearly 12 hours to extinguish. The hospital had been in line for renovations funded by the Nampa Development Cooperation prior to the fire.
