SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah authorities say remains found in a cave near Moab are those of a man police believe shot and wounded a Utah state park ranger in 2010. The Utah medical examiner made the positive identification today after a college student found the body on Christmas Eve. Utah park ranger Brody Young survived the shooting. Authorities say it's a huge relief to be able to close the case after years of searching.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — All four members of Utah's delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives are now backing Republican candidate Marco Rubio for president. U.S. Rep. Jason Chaffetz, announced his endorsement today. Reps. Mia Love, Chris Stewart and Rob Bishop previously announced they were backing Rubio.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah state representative is proposing a measure that would allow 17-year-olds to vote in primary elections, if they'll turn 18 by the general election in November. Democrat Joel Briscoe of Salt Lake City is a former high school civics teacher and says his proposal will get more young people engaged in politics.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — An SUV was stolen in Salt Lake City, and a 7-year-old boy who was inside apparently slept through the whole ordeal. Police found the boy and the car about 30 minutes after an Amber Alert was issued. Police say the boy wasn't hurt. Investigators say the father put the son in the SUV and started the engine to warm it up while he went inside to get another child. When the father returned, the vehicle was gone. No arrest has been made.
