SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Josh Romney says he's considering a run for governor of Utah in 2020. The son of former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney tells the Deseret news that he's been consistently asked by others to run for political office and will decide when the time is right.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A judge will allow St. George businessman Jeremy Johnson to act as his own attorney as he faces Internet fraud charges. The judge said, however, called the move stupid and ill-conceived and appointed a standby attorney for Johnson. His trial is scheduled to begin next month.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — An appeals court is ordering federal land managers to conduct inventories of cultural resources, such as Native American artifacts, in south-central Utah. The Deseret News reports the Bureau of Land Management was ordered to complete the survey after the BLM requested a delay.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Educational Savings Plan has announced the number of accounts it manages has exceeded 300,000, nearly doubling the number reported in 2009. The Deseret News reports that the growth is attributed to an increasing number of families investing in Utah's official 529 College Savings Plan for their children.
