IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Authorities say 2 people have died in a plane crash near the Idaho-Wyoming line. The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office says emergency responders found a small airplane in Bonneville County at the edge of Palisades Reservoir late yesterday afternoon. Two people were found dead in the wreckage and the bodies were removed. Identities and other details were not immediately available.
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — The Kootenai County Prosecutor's Office will seek the death penalty for a parolee who is accused of killing a Coeur d'Alene police officer. The Spokesman-Review reports prosecutors say Jonathan Renfro shot Sgt. Greg Moore on May 5 because he feared Moore would find a handgun in his pocket, a parole violation.
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A judge has granted prosecutors an extension to decide whether to seek the death penalty against a man accused of a fatal shooting in Twin Falls. Jacob Marshall of Jackson is charged with six felony counts including murder and murder conspiracy in connection to the July 25 death of Kent Storrer.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The Simplot family has announced that the hilltop mansion in Boise that they offered as Idaho's governor's residence will soon be demolished. A spokesman says the 7,400-foot home has been vacant for 10 years. The home was donated to the state in 2004, but was returned to the family in 2013 because it was too costly to maintain.
