WEST JORDAN, Utah (AP) — Police say a 15-year-old Utah boy is in custody after he brandished a machete at his mother during a fight about a board game.
The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/1PIeFec ) that West Jordan Police Sgt. Keith Bronson says the dispute started when a board game tipped over Saturday in the Salt Lake City suburb and the boy became upset because he couldn't find all the pieces to the game.
Bronson says the teen threatened his mother while holding the machete, which was a Christmas present. The woman was injured on her nose during the scuffle.
Bronson says the boy claims he never removed the knife from its sheath.
