Rangers looking at Sam Houston University police shooting

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) — Texas Rangers are investigating the weekend shooting of a woman in Huntsville by an officer with the police department at Sam Houston State University.

The Huntsville Item reports (http://bit.ly/1JcrpbH ) the woman is being treated at a hospital in Houston, about 70 miles to the south.

Details and names of the people involved have not been released.

Department of Public Safety Trooper Erik Burse is saying only that the Rangers are looking into the shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon.
