Ohio hangs on for 72-67 win over Jackson State

ATHENS, Ohio (AP) — Jaaron Simmons scored 17 points and dished out eight assists to help lead Ohio to a 72-67 win over Jackson State on Thursday night.

Antonio Campbell added 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Treg Setty finished with 13 points and Jordan Dartis had 12 for Ohio (7-3), which won its third straight game for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

The Bobcats broke away late in the second half with 10 unanswered points capped by Setty's 3-point play to make it 61-51. Jackson State (4-8) closed the gap with a 9-2 burst that included a 3-pointer from Chace Franklin to make it 68-62 with 41 seconds left but Ohio hung on, going 4 for 4 from the line to clinch it.

Paris Collins led Jackson State with 15 points, while Yettra Specks added 13 and Troy Stancil 10.
