DAVOS, Switzerland (AP) — Federico Pellegrino of Italy repeated his Davos win of one year ago and Stina Nilsson of Sweden got her first World Cup victory in cross-country ski sprints on Sunday.

Pellegrino overhauled leader Sondre Turvoll Fossli of Norway approaching the end of a 1.6-kilometer (1-mile) course to win in 2 minutes, 20.97 seconds.

Baptiste Gros of France then edged Fossli for second in a photo finish.

Nilsson also took the lead late to beat the 2014 Olympic gold and silver medalists from Norway, Maiken Caspersen Falla and Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg. Nilsson's winning time was 2:39.27.

Oestberg closed the gap on overall standings leader Therese Johaug who placed 19th on Sunday

Sophie Caldwell of the United States reached the final and placed sixth.
