WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama says the Paris climate agreement establishes an enduring framework that the world needs to tackle the problem of global warming. He says the agreement to reduce greenhouse gases is "the best chance to save the one planet we have" and shows the world has the will and ability to take on "this challenge." Nearly 200 nations signed the pact.
DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A Florida-based online arms seller says it's "unable to confirm" that a firearm it sold is linked to the Paris terror attacks. A Serbian arms factory says a semi-automatic pistol's serial number matches one delivered to Century Arms. The ATF says "serial numbers of firearms are not always unique when manufactured in other countries. However, no firearm(s) used in the Paris attacks have been traced by ATF."
COACHELLA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of committing a hate crime and arson in connection with a Southern California mosque fire. The Riverside County sheriff's office says Carl James Dial Jr., of Palm Desert, was taken into custody late Friday. No one was injured yesterday in the fire at the Islamic Center of Palm Springs.
RICHARDSON, Texas (AP) — Demonstrations are being held across the country in the wake of the San Bernardino shootings. About 20 people, half of them armed with rifles, rallied peacefully today outside a suburban Dallas mosque against Islamist violence and Syrian refugee resettlement. The rally drew a counter-demonstration by about 50 people.
MEXICO CITY (AP) — Men, women and children from across Mexico and from other nations are flooding into the area around Mexico City's basilica of the Virgin of Guadalupe, the country's patron saint. The faithful have been arriving at the basilica all week for the annual celebration. But the biggest crowd was today, the saint's day of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
