LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) — A man and a teenager are scheduled for trial in April in the sexual assault and slaying of a sixth-grade math teacher during a burglary at her central Pennsylvania home.
Prosecutors in Lancaster County have said that they plan to seek the death penalty if 26-year-old Thomas Moore is convicted of first-degree murder in the December 2014 death of 32-year-old Nicole Mathewson.
Moore's 17-year-old co-defendant could face life in prison if convicted in the slaying of the Brownstown Elementary School teacher in Lancaster.
A spokesman for the prosecutor's office told LNP newspapers (http://bit.ly/1STVjS6 ) that the two will be tried together on charges including homicide and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.
