WAKE FOREST, N.C. (AP) — Authorities are looking for a driver whose van struck a high school student in Wake Forest, then left the scene.

Bill Crabtree with the Wake Forest Police Department tells local media outlets that a 14-year-old student was crossing a street at around 7 a.m. Monday when he was hit by the mirror of a dark, 15-passenger van.

Police say the impact broke the boy's right collar bone. Several bones in his right foot were also broken.

Authorities say the driver stopped briefly, then drove away. The mirror broke off, and police say they are looking for a Chevrolet Express made between 2003 and 2012.
