PHOENIX (AP) — Grandy Glaze scored 20 points, Joshua Braun added 18, and Grand Canyon handled Southern 70-56 on Tuesday night.
Glaze was 9 of 10 from the floor and Braun 9 of 10 from the line with three 3-pointers. DeWayne Russell had nine rebounds, six assists and three steals to go with his 10 points for the Antelopes (7-1). Grand Canyon outrebounded Southern 44-25.
Southern (5-2) was paced by Adrian Rodgers with 13 points. Jarred Sam and Shawn Prudhomme had 11 points apiece and Christopher Hyder added 10.
Consecutive 3-pointers by Rodgers, Hyder and Prudhomme gave Southern a 13-10 lead. Rodgers and Hyder added two more treys near the end of the first half and Southern led 31-29 at the break.
Grand Canyon opened the second half with a 24-9 run after Braun scored 12 straight points, and led 53-40 with 9:33 to go. Southern got no closer than 11 down the stretch.
