WOODS CROSS — A Woods Cross boy made it on national TV after his slip-and-slide fail captured the attention of "America's Funniest Home Videos."

Michelle O'Neal said her 5-year-old son, Austin, is always making their family laugh.

"He is pretty funny," O'Neal said. "He does funny stuff all the time. We often say we should just have a YouTube channel of his videos."

O'Neal said Austin was staying when her father-in-law in Atlanta, Georgia, over the summer. In June, her father-in-law set up a slip-and-slide and decided to film Austin going down it. The video shows Austin running with his tube, but when he gets ready to slide, the tube stays in place and Austin's momentum pushes him right into a faceplant on the tarp.

O'Neal said Austin's nickname is "Giggles," and in true fashion he just laughed about the incident and then ran to try the slip-and-slide again.

"He always laughs," she said.

O'Neal decided to send Austin's video to "America's Funniest Home Videos" in July. She said she was surprised when she heard back a few months later and was told his clip would be featured on the TV show's website. Then Thursday, O'Neal received an email telling her the video would be featured on TV.

"I figured there are just millions of videos that get submitted," she said. "When I got the email, I was like, 'Oh my gosh!' I was very surprised.

While he wasn't one of the top three prize winners, O'Neal said it was a fun experience. The family had a viewing party Sunday evening to watch the "America's Funniest Home Videos" segment.

O'Neal said she also submitted the clip to Comedy Central TV show, "TOSH.0."

"It's funny," she said. "Why not let people laugh?"
