(KSL News) An apartment in the building where a 7-year-old refugee girl was killed is being turned into a community resource center in her honor.
The Hser Ner Moo Memorial Community Center will be housed in a 1,325-square-foot apartment in the South Parc complex at 2248 S. 400 East. It will provide services such as after-school programs, English classes and special programs for refugees, many of whom already live in the complex.
The center is expected to open Aug. 5 but is still in need of things like office supplies, appliances and furniture.
