(Photos courtesy UHP)(KSL News/KCGS) Brake failures on two large vehicles caused a massive accident in Cedar Canyon.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, a semi's brakes overheated and it rolled while going around a sharp bend on S.R. 14 in Cedar Canyon, about eight miles east of Cedar City, on Saturday afternoon.
While crews worked to upright the semi, a motor home pulling a trailer approached the traffic backup. The motor home's brakes overheated and failed, as well, causing the motor home to smash into several other vehicles. That created a chain reaction that involved 10 vehicles including the motor home and semi.
No one was seriously injured, but four people were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
