A Salt Lake woman is recovering after being shot by her boyfriend. But police say they're not getting a lot of information on just how it all happened.
It's one of those cases where the victim shows up at the hospital, and hospital staff call police. Officers then returned to the woman's apartment and found two men and a gun.
Detective Jeff Bedard, spokesman for the Salt Lake City Police Department, says their story is still cloudy. "One of the suspects picked up the gun, and the gun discharged. The bullet, like we said, struck the female, the victim, in the abdomen, went through and lodged near her spine," he said.
Bedard says the officers found drug paraphernalia at the scene. In addition to that, the two men were also arrested because the gun was stolen.
One of the men was booked into jail on charges of carrying a weapon by a restricted person.
