Police caught the man they say is responsible for a triple shooting at a popular nightclub in Midvale. Officers arrested him early this morning after a chase along the west side of Salt Lake County.
Police have been looking for the shooting suspect for a couple of weeks. He was finally arrested in front of a home near 6000 South and 3500 West in West Jordan.
Officers noticed his vehicle at 4 a.m. at the Motel 6 in Midvale. When he left, officers followed him and tried to pull him over. At that point, he sped off.
Police attempted a pit maneuver. The suspect, Paul Madill, jumped out of his car and led police on a foot chase. They caught him in front of the home and took him into custody.
They believe he's responsible for shooting three people at the Three Alarm Saloon in Midvale. All three people received minor injuries. Police are relieved this man is off the streets.
Detective John Salazar with the Midvale Police Department said, "He has an extensive criminal history. I believe he's on probation or parole from the federal system right now, and he's a substantial bad guy."
Police have confirmed that Madill injured his ankle when he jumped out of his car and led police on the foot chase. He's now being treated at a nearby hospital.
