WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (neh-ten-YAH'-hoo) may soon have their first meeting since the U.S. and other world powers reached a nuclear agreement with Iran. The White House says it's trying to arrange a meeting between the leaders for November. When Netanyahu appeared before a joint meeting of Congress to criticize the Iran deal in March, the president pointedly refused to see him.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — The three Americans who foiled an attack on a French passenger train say they have a new perspective on this anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. U.S. Airman Spencer Stone and Oregon National Guardsman Alek Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler appeared at a parade hosted by their home town of Sacramento today. Skarlatos tells Fox News he feels so much "more connected" to "the victims of terrorist attacks." Sadler says that on a recent visit to the 9/11 memorial in New York, he realized how easily he could have ended up like one of the names etched in its stones.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Police are trying to figure out who's responsible for an apparent murder-suicide that's left a family of five dead in an affluent Minneapolis suburb. South Lake police say all five people died of gunshot wounds. Four of them were found in their bedrooms. The father in the family was found in the garage.
PHOENIX (AP) — People in Phoenix hope it means a string of random freeway shootings will come to end. Police say they're questioning a man in connection with the case that's rattled the city over the past two weeks. A man and woman were taken into custody earlier, but the Arizona Department of Public safety says it's focusing on the man. No arrests have been made. Officials say questioning could continue for hours.
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Scratch former Texas Governor Rick Perry from the GOP presidential race program. Starved for campaign cash and sitting at the bottom in the polls, Perry is pulling the plug. He says he steps aside with the party in "good hands" thanks to a "tremendous field of candidates."
