RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — There's been a deadly crane collapse in Saudi Arabia. Officials say at least 65 people were killed and scores were injured when the crane came down in the Grand Mosque in Mecca. It happened as pilgrims from around the world converged on the city, Islam's holiest site, for the annual Hajj pilgrimage.

WASHINGTON (AP) — House Republicans have cast a largely symbolic vote today against the Iran nuclear deal. Despite the vote -- in which 25 Democrats broke with President Obama to show their disapproval of the deal -- a Senate vote yesterday ensured that the deal would survive. Democrats say it will stabilize the Mideast and offer a chance to end the standoff with Iran diplomatically. Republicans say the inspections that are included in the agreement are weak. And they repeatedly recalled the attack by Islamic extremists on the United States 14 years ago today.

NEW YORK (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden and singer Billy Joel have honored firefighters today at a station in New York City whose ranks were decimated on 9/11. The two joined New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo in Manhattan at Rescue Company 1, a unit of the Fire Department of New York. The White House says Rescue 1 lost nearly half its members when it responded to the north tower of the World Trade Center. Biden greeted firefighters with hugs and handshakes in front of memorial plaques honoring their comrades who died on 9/11 and at other times.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Marine Corps officials say six Marines are in critical condition a day after a rollover accident at Camp Pendleton, California, killed one Marine and injured 18. The Marine Corps said in a statement today that the Marines are being treated at five area hospitals in San Diego County. Eight other Marines are in stable condition, and four were treated and released.

BALTIMORE (AP) — As Baltimore continues to deal with the fallout from the arrest and death of Freddie Gray, the city will be electing a new mayor. Stephanie Rawlings-Blake announced today that she won't be seeking re-election next year. She says she wants to focus on governing the city after the unrest that followed Gray's death in police custody.
