NEW YORK (AP) — Rain washed out last night's opening game of the four-game Toronto at New York series. That means, weather permitting, four games in three days for the two teams vying for the lead in the American League East. Following tonight's game they will play a doubleheader tomorrow.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The 24th-ranked team in The Associated Press Top-25 poll is in action tonight. No. 24 Utah is playing host to in-state rival Utah State. Each team comes in with a 1-0 record.
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Qualifying for tomorrow night's Sprint Cup race at Richmond International Raceway is being conducted today. The event covers 300 miles and 400 laps. Two drivers, Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch, enter the race with four victories this season.
EVIAN-LES-BAINS, France (AP) — The second round of the LPGA's Evian (ay-vee-AWN') Championship in France, is in progress. The early clubhouse lead is held by first-round co-leader Mi Hyang Lee, who shot a second-round 4-under 67 and is 9-under. Morgan Pressel of the U.S. is a shot back of the leader after a second-round 6-under 65 which left her at 8-under after 36 holes.
