A disapproval resolution for the agreement fell two votes short of the 60 needed to move forward. Over in the Republican-led House, lawmakers agreed on a party-line 245-186 vote to a measure specifying that Obama had not properly submitted all documents related to the accord for Congress' review.
NEW YORK (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden describes himself as overwhelmed at times by the loss of his son Beau to brain cancer, and unconvinced that he could commit fully to being president. Biden's comments came in an emotional interview on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" that cast a deep pall over his deliberations about the 2016 presidential race.
CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. (AP) — One Marine has been killed and 18 others injured in a rollover crash during routine training at Camp Pendleton Marine Base in California. The identity of the Marine who died was not released, and the extent of the injuries to the others is unclear. An investigation is underway.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Police say five family members, including three children, are dead in a home in a Minneapolis suburb in an apparent murder-suicide. Authorities have not released the names of the victims. But the father's business posted a notice online saying the victims were Brian Short and his family. Short is the founder of AllNurses.com.
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Investigators have recovered video showing a flammable object being thrown through the window of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Pullman, Washington, before a fire broke out last Friday. No one was injured in the fire, which was determined to be arson.
