WASHINGTON (AP) — Injuries have sidelined Nationals players Yunel Escobar, Michael Taylor and Ryan Zimmerman for their series finale Wednesday against the New York Mets.
Washington manager Matt Williams says third baseman Escobar "spiked a fever of 103 last night."
Center fielder Taylor has been dealing with a swollen right knee, which will keep him out of the starting lineup again. Williams says the knee is structurally fine, but Taylor is having mobility issues.
First baseman Zimmerman will miss a second straight game because of sore abdominal muscles.
