MANSON, Wash. (AP) — Officials now say four people, including a shooter, have been found dead in a Chelan County town, and the suspect had been due to appear in court on an unrelated charge.
KPQ-AM radio in Wenatchee reports (http://is.gd/vznj2D ) that Benito Sedano Sr. had been due to appear in court for a change of plea hearing Wednesday morning in a kidnapping case from last year. Instead, Chelan County Prosecutor Doug Shae says Sedano was found dead overnight, along with a woman.
The case began Tuesday after two other people were found shot to death in the Manson area on the north shore of Lake Chelan. Investigators executing a search warrant found Sedano and the woman.
Sedano was being prosecuted in the kidnapping and robbery of Ignacio Ramirez and Jesus Blanco Delgado last December. Ramirez body was later found in a shallow grave near Sedano's home, but Sedano had not been charged in the homicide.
