EDMOND, Okla. (AP) — Classes are scheduled to resume at a high school in Edmond where a water main break flooded classrooms and interrupted normal water service.
Edmond Public Schools spokesperson Susan Parks Schlepp said Tuesday that classes for the school's 2,650 students will resume on Wednesday. Schlepp says water service has been restored to the center part of the school building.
She says the classrooms of 16 teachers, primarily history and government, have been temporarily relocated. Meals will be cooked in the Freshman Academy kitchen and served in the main cafeteria. Both hot and cold food choices will be available.
The water main break occurred Saturday and crews worked throughout the long Labor Day weekend to clean up the mess. About 30,000 square feet of the school building was affected by the break.
