CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Gov. Brian Sandoval was among about 100 people who ran in the National Guard's annual 5K honoring the people who were shot and killed at a Carson City IHOP restaurant four years ago. Sandoval said before the run that he participated this year to show his support for the National Guard.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Las Vegas police officer is being treated for a gunshot wound in his hand after being shot while stopped at a traffic light. The Las Vegas Sun reports that two officers were on their way to respond to a call about a disturbance at a store Sunday afternoon when a man approached on foot and fired a weapon several times at their car. The uninjured policeman pursued the suspect and caught him.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — The tour bus driver who died in a weekend crash near downtown Las Vegas has been identified. The Clark County coroner's office says 53-year-old Jose Cosenza of Las Vegas was killed when a car ran a red light and struck his bus. A 34-year-old man from Germany who was on the tour bus also died but has not been identified. The driver of the car faces charges.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — The U.S. Air Force says the owners of a property surrounded by a bombing range can accept a $5.2 million offer by Thursday, or the government will seize it through condemnation. Family representatives say they'll reject the deal — at least for now. Air Force officials say the purchase is a matter of national security.
