BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A 4th District Court judge will allow two former female athletes' lawsuit against Boise State University to go to trial. The two former students sued the school in 2014, alleging athletic officials ignored their reports of sexual assault and harassment by a star athlete. The Idaho Statesman reports that the women contend that the school's failure to take action spurred the athlete to continue the behavior.
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A southern Idaho woman has been diagnosed with the mosquito-borne illness West Nile virus, the third human case confirmed in Idaho this year. The Idaho State Journal reports that the woman is in her 30s and from Lincoln County. An epidemiologist says the woman was hospitalized but is now recovering at home.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Vendors at the Boise International Market are grappling with the aftermath of a fire that destroyed nearly 20 businesses, many of which are refugee-owned. A Boise Fire Department spokeswoman says the fire was an accident and likely started in a trash can. A GoFundMe page has collected over $13,000 in support for vendors.
COCOLALLA, Idaho (AP) — A wolf exhibition company in northern Idaho is appealing its one-year license suspension to the Idaho Supreme Court. The Bonner County Daily Bee reports that Cocolalla-based Wolf People filed a notice of appeal on Aug. 18. The Idaho Department of Fish and Game suspended Wolf People's commercial license, contending the company failed to comply with an agreement prohibiting visitors from having physical contact with the wolves.
