BOSTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is marking Labor Day by addressing a union rally and breakfast in Boston. Obama is signing an executive order today requiring federal contractors to give their workers paid sick leave. Under the order, employees working on federal contracts gain the right to a minimum of one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours they work. Stretched out over 12 months, that's up to seven days per year.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden said last week, he's not sure he and his family have the "emotional energy" for a presidential run. But today, Biden's is making an appearance in Pittsburgh that has the look of a campaign stop. Speaking at the city's annual Labor Day parade, Biden wore a United Steelworkers union hat and told hundreds of union members that the "wealthy aren't paying their fair share" and the gap between rich and poor is hurting the nation.

LONDON (AP) — British Prime Minister David Cameron says the U.K. will re-settle up to 20,000 Syrian refugees from camps in Turkey, Jordan and Syria over the next five years. Cameron told Parliament today that Britain has a moral responsibility to act, citing shocking images in recent days. Cameron said vulnerable children and orphans will be given priority.

LONDON (AP) — British Prime Minister David Cameron says a Royal Air Force drone strike has killed three Islamic State fighters in Syria. Cameron tells Parliament one of those killed was a British man who had been planning attacks against the U.K. The prime minister says the threat from IS is more acute and the drone attack was the only "feasible means" of dealing with the danger. Cameron says police and security forces have thwarted at least six terror attacks inside Britain in the last 12 months.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — The number of sea turtles laying eggs on beaches in the southeastern United States has rebounded from a slump last year. On the coast of Georgia, scientists and volunteers have counted nearly 2,300 loggerhead sea turtle nests. It's the fifth season in six years that Georgia has counted a record number of nests. Florida's nesting season still has a month to go, but scientists have already counted a record 12,000 nests dug by endangered green turtles at the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge.
