LAS VEGAS (AP) — Two people are dead and four others are injured after a fire tore through a minibus following a collision in Las Vegas. Fire officials say a burning minibus was found lying on its side on the sidewalk and a car was in the middle of the intersection. Several firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, but the bus was a total loss. According to police, two people on the bus died at the scene. Two other passengers as well as two from the car have been hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Gov. Brian Sandoval is pushing for court proceedings in a lawsuit over a Nevada education funding program to take place as soon as possible. The Las Vegas Sun reports that Nevada lawmakers established the program this spring so parents can even use per-pupil education funds for private school or tutoring. The ACLU argues the program will use taxpayer money for religious indoctrination at private schools that discriminate in admissions and employment.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in Las Vegas are investigating a shooting that has left one person dead and several others wounded. A police spokesman says the incident encompasses between four and five different scenes. However, he says that does not mean someone was hurt at every scene. The conditions of the victims who were wounded were not immediately known.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say a man was likely intoxicated when he hit a parked Las Vegas police motorcycle and then fled the scene. Police say 29-year-old Brian Bradford, of Las Vegas, has been booked on charges of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
