VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) — An inauguration is set next month for the new president at Valley City State University.
Tisa Mason was hired late last year by the North Dakota Board of Higher Education. She succeeds Steven Shirley, who left to become president of Minot State University.
Mason's inauguration is slated for Oct. 1. A tree-planting ceremony in honor of Mason will take place the following day.
Mason's inauguration is part of the school's homecoming week and 125th anniversary celebration.
Mason previously served as vice president of student affairs at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas.
