HOUSTON (AP) — Darik Dillard ran for two touchdowns and Rice rolled over Wagner 56-16 in the opener for both teams on Saturday in a game that was delayed at the start by foul weather.

Dillard finished with 93 yards on 15 carries and Austin Walter carried 12 times for 107 yards and a score. Driphus Jackson ran for a 43-yard touchdown and went 10 of 19 for 123 yards and a 35-yard touchdown pass to Samuel Stewart. Rice amassed 401 yards rushing.

Rice's opening drive went 9 plays and 72 yards, resulting in Dillard's 11-yard touchdown run. Luke Turner ran for a 3-yard score and Dillard added a 16-yard run in the second to conclude a 93-yard drive. Rice ran up a 35-3 score by halftime.

Wagner scored twice in the second half — a 34-yard pass from Chris Andrews to Andre Yevchinecz and a 50-yard strike from Alex Thomson to Lloyd Smith.
