OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — State health officials say nine Washington residents have been sickened from a multi-state salmonella outbreak linked to garden cucumbers grown in Mexico.

The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has tracked 285 cases in 27 states since July. A 99-year-old San Diego woman has died.

The CDC says three cases have been reported in Oregon.

In Idaho, health officials say eight residents have gotten sick. One of them was hospitalized but has recovered. Idaho officials are investigating six other possible cases linked to the outbreak.

No one in Washington state has been hospitalized. Those cases are in Clark, King, Kitsap, Pierce, Thurston and Yakima counties.

On Friday, Andrew & Williamson Fresh Produce of San Diego voluntarily recalled all cucumbers sold under the Limited Edition label from Aug. 1 through Sept. 3 because they may be contaminated with salmonella.
