SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Officials say all three victims of a shooting on the campus of Sacramento City College in California were students. One was declared dead at the scene, while another was taken to a hospital with injures. Police say the third was only grazed. Police say the gunman fled on foot and a search is underway. It remains unclear whether the gunman has any ties to the school, and police have not said anything about a motive for the shooting.

FOX LAKE, Ill. (AP) — The manhunt for three suspects wanted in the killing of an Illinois police officer continues. On Thursday, the Lake County Major Crime Task Force said it had recovered video from a homeowner's security system that could provide clues in the search. Search teams have been hampered by the lack of a description of the three men suspected in the slaying of Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz (GLIHN'-uh-wihts).

ASHLAND, Ky. (AP) — Gay and lesbian couples say they plan to appear at the Rowan (ROW'-uhn) County clerk's office in Kentucky to see if the five deputy clerks keep their promises to issue them marriage licenses. County clerk Kim Davis is spending the night in jail for contempt after insisting that her "conscience will not allow" her to follow federal court rulings on gay marriage. U.S. District Judge David Bunning said he had no choice but to jail Davis, saying, her "belief is simply not a viable defense" for defying court orders.

WASHINGTON (AP) — White House spokesman Josh Earnest says the haunting photographs of the body of a 3-year-old refugee washed up on a Turkish shore are a stark reminder of the widespread toll that violence in the Middle East and North Africa has taken on innocent people. Earnest says there are forces "carrying out heinous acts of violence" in the region and disrupting the lives of millions of people.

ATLANTA (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden says he is unsure whether he will seek the presidency. Speaking at an Atlanta synagogue Thursday night, Biden said his decision will depend on whether he and his family have the "emotional energy to run." Biden's 46-year-old son Beau died of brain cancer at the end of May.
