LAS VEGAS (AP) — Electric carmaker Tesla has announced that it will obtain lithium for its batteries from two companies in northern Mexico. That's frustrating for Nevada lawmakers who last year approved $1.3 billion in tax incentives for Tesla's gigafactory in Reno. The Las Vegas Sun reports Tesla founder Elon Musk says the deal is not exclusive and that criticism for going outside of Nevada is unwarranted.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say a 20-year-old Australia woman remains hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a restricted roadway just off the Las Vegas Strip. Police say Brooke Baldwin climbed over a block divider less than 30 feet east of Las Vegas Boulevard and was struck early Monday.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A California fugitive wanted for questioning in an Oakland murder was reported in critical condition after he was shot by police when federal marshals attempted to serve an arrest warrant at a Reno apartment building. The man's name wasn't released. He was listed in critical but stable condition at a Reno hospital.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A super PAC backing Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's run for the White House announced a $9 million ad buy for three early voting states including Nevada. The new ad purchase includes $8 million in South Carolina, $725,000 in New Hampshire and $400,000 in Nevada.
