LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Nevada jury will again be deliberating the fate of a former Las Vegas firefighter accused of hiring a homeless ex-convict to bludgeon his estranged wife to death with a hammer nearly three years ago. Prosecutors say George Tiaffay (TEE'-uh-fay) manipulated Noel Stevens into killing Shauna Tiaffay in September 2012. A defense attorney says Stevens is responsible for the crime, and his word can't be trusted.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say they have arrested three 18-year-old men in connection with the fatal shooting of a man found Monday night in his northwest Las Vegas valley home. Police say Andrew Hall, Derek Balint and Stephen Jordan face charges of murder, robbery and burglary with a deadly weapon and conspiracy. The three men don't appear to be represented by an attorney yet and could not be reached for comment.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A California fugitive wanted for questioning in an Oakland murder was reported in critical condition after he was shot by police when federal marshals attempted to serve an arrest warrant at a Reno apartment building. The man's name wasn't released. He was listed in critical but stable condition at a Reno hospital.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Dozens of street performers say they still have concerns about a Las Vegas effort to tame the often rowdy gauntlet of downtown entertainers turning off some tourists. The Las Vegas City Council has voted to continue to matter to its Sept. 16 meeting. City staff laid out the latest version of the proposed ordinance to establish performance zones along Fremont Street. Performers say it would violate their rights to free speech.
