ROANOKE, Va. (AP) — A funeral will be held in Roanoke, Virginia, today for a TV news cameraman who, along with a reporter, was shot to death on live television. WDBJ cameraman Adam Ward and reporter Alison Parker were in the middle of a live interview when a former co-worker walked up to them and began shooting. The woman being interviewed also was shot, but is recovering in a hospital. After the gunman posted the shooting on the Internet, he killed himself.

PHOENIX (AP) — Stranded motorists, widespread car crashes, and reports of downed power lines and fires. Fire officials in Phoenix say they received more than 400 emergency calls last night, as monsoon storms hit the area, knocking out power to several thousand customers and causing flash flooding. The storms began moving through the area around sundown with high winds, lightning and heavy rain.

BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — Tensions are flaring at Greece's northern border, where about 1,500 migrants are waiting to enter Macedonia and head north toward more prosperous countries in the European Union. Fights and scuffles broke out today near a village when hundreds of people, mainly from Afghanistan and Pakistan, tried to rush the border being guarded by Macedonian police. Police responded with stun grenades and batons.

TOKYO (AP) — Wall Street is set to start September on weak footing, following sagging by global stock markets. Asian stocks closed mostly lower and in early trading, European markets also are down. Investors are glad to say goodbye to August, during which the S&P 500 finished down 6.3 percent, its worst showing since May 2012.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer says she's pregnant with identical twins and is due in December. Mayer posted the news on her blog, saying she'll take limited time away but work during the pregnancy as she did with her son's birth three years ago. Mayer announced that pregnancy on her social networking accounts just a few hours after Yahoo hired her as its third full-time CEO in less than a year.
