Nomination letter sent in by Helen Bearinger:

Dawn lost her 10 year old daughter in a sledding accident 6 years ago. Since then she has become a spokesman for organ transplants and involved in grief support groups.

She has helped support activities put on by Compassionate Friends, a support group for parents who have lost children and she has also mentored other parents. This June she helped organize a 5k memory run put on by Canary Garden a center for grieving children and parents. For the last 4 years Dawn has organized the Patia Lynn Christensen 5k in honor of her deceased daughter. Each year the money raised by this event goes to a different charity. Last year a 10k trail run was added. These two races are held in conjunction with Eureka UT town days in August.

Through her connection with other runners she has actively supported Addicts to Athletes. She is also very involved in her community of Eureka. Dawn is amazing. In addition to her volunteer activities she works full time for NuSkin and is an outstanding runner and biker and a friend extraordinaire!
